Emotion Flashcards
A fun activity to help children learn to name and identify different emotions – an important step in learning to manage their feelings.
Emotional awareness is the ability to recognise and make sense of our own emotions, as well as those of others.
With this fun activity, children get to name and identify different emotions. This is an important step towards learning to manage their feelings.
What you’ll need:
☺ A set of emotion cards
☺ A bowl
01
Print and cut out your emotion cards and place them in a bowl.
02
Each player selects one emotion card from the bowl.
03
One at a time, each player describes the emotion on their card. They cannot name it, but should give clues, such as 'you might feel this way when someone else eats the last cookie’ or ‘you might feel this way when we read your favourite story at bedtime’.
04
The other players must try and guess the emotion!
Tip: Another way to play this game is by acting out the emotion on the card and having other players guess what it is. Have fun :)
