Activities
We embrace a holistic approach that celebrates the relationship between parents and the nursery
We understand the importance of a play-based, holistic educational journey, which nurtures physical and mental health in the early years. Alongside our daily programme of child-led and supported activities, children at MEplace KX enjoy an enriching range of extracurricular sessions, such as music, yoga, mindfulness and more. We’re supporting our young learners to develop their curiosity, confidence and self-concept, helping them to love their ME!
Outings
We embrace a holistic approach that celebrates the relationship between parents and the nursery
With dedicated daily outing slots for each age group, we ensure that children are provided access to outdoor learning in natural, green spaces, such as the nearby Bingfield Park. Additionally, the team plan regular educational visits to places of interest such as museums, gardens and even supermarkets, enriching children’s topic-based learning. Safety is our top priority, and our outing locations and routes are subject to thorough and up-to-date risk assessments.

15/30 Free Hours Explanation

The Government funding for 15 or 30 free hours is based on a term structure of 38 weeks per year, during which funding is provided for these hours each week. However, since MEplace operates year-round, the funding is adjusted on a pro-rata basis to align with our operational schedule.

How Pro-Rata Funding Works

  • 15 Hours Funding: The Government funds 15 hours per week for 38 weeks, totalling 570 hours per year (15 hours/week × 38 weeks). The adjusted funding covers approximately 10.96 hours per week for the entire year instead of the full 15 hours during the funded term time.
  • 30 Hours Funding: For those eligible for 30 free hours, the Government provides funding for 30 hours per week for 38 weeks, totalling 1,140 hours per year (30 hours/week × 38 weeks). When distributed across the whole year, the funding covers approximately 21.92 hours per week instead of 30 hours during term time.

This pro-rata adjustment ensures the funding aligns with our operational schedule.

Additional Information

At MEplace, both funded and non-funded slots are subject to availability. Please note that there are additional fees for meals and resources, as these are not covered by Government funding.
